Deadline to Connect Fayda to Bank Account Extended Till Nov 09
Deadline to connect Fayda to bank account has been extended till November 09. New deadline is November 09, 2026 G.C. ( Timkit 30, 2019 E.C.). The deadline is about connecting Ethiopian digital ID called Fayda to bank account.
Ethiopian National Bank (NBE) made an announcement in this regard today. It announced an extension of the deadline for linking Fayda ID to bank accounts until Tikimt 30, 2019 E.C. (November 9, 2026 G.C.) for customers located outside the Harari Region and the 27 designated cities (Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Harar, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Dessie, Debre Berhan, Kombolcha, Hawassa, Arba Minch, Wolaita Sodo, Hossana, Welkite, Sheger, Jimma, Adama, Shashemene, Bishoftu, Batu, Ambo, Mekelle, Axum, Adigrat, Gambella, and Asosa).
This extension has been granted due to the agricultural season and other major events. However, the deadline for the Harari Region and the above mentioned cities remains unchanged. Banks have also been instructed to ensure their customers obtain and link the ID and to intensify awareness-raising activities.
